I have a good job with a railroad and make a pretty good income. It was enough to support us and we owned a home. Things turned negative a few years ago when Jocille was involved in an accident and her back was broken. She received medical care and I suppose they did the best they could do but she has never been able to fully recover and will need care the rest of her life. The costs of her care above our insurance coverage broke our back financially with the result that we lost our home. Somewhere in the middle of all that it became apparent that Jocille’s mother needed care and we decided to have her move in with us. Maybe Jocille’s accident was a blessing in a way because she then had the time to take care of her mother. I did the best I could, kept working and earning an income and rented a home that worked well enough after moving to Washington. You know as well as I do that renting is just not a long term solution for anybody. I really wanted to move Jocille and her mother into our own home again. They deserve that but I guess I just felt overwhelmed by everything. When I read your ad on the internet it really struck a chord with me. After we connected on the phone we were so excited that we drove over a hundred miles to meet you in person and find out more. We were very pleased that you took the time to get to know us and explain everything in detail. You told us, quite rightly, that this was a business proposition for you and your investors, it cost money to operate your program and that the investors were looking to profit from their investment of time, trouble, money and risk but, really, there was no catch. Everything went pretty much the way you said right at the beginning. We already had a home in mind, one that would work beautifully for the three of us. Your realtor drove the reverse hundred miles to come down to negotiate an offer and that worked out well for us. All the rest of your team, the credit counselors, the lenders, and all the people behind the scenes were professional, helpful and courteous. What took the longest was accumulating the consulting fee and earnest money/option fee but the rest went right on schedule and quickly. I will have to put out more effort to get into a position to qualify for our own home loan but I know I can do it. Having a plan with all of the professional assistance you provide really helps.
