This was natural because both my parents and my grandparents rented all of their lives. Nobody in my family knew any different. I have always been able to take care of myself and my family. As a young man I was a professional boxer. You learn something about life by stepping into the ring with another man who is attempting to defeat you physically. When Veronica and I were married we did just what my parents and grandparents did, we rented. I have always worked hard to make enough money to support us and our children but I have always been careful. I suppose I could have been more careful with my credit but I didn’t know much about that, how to manage it better I mean. All I knew was that when I spoke to lenders to borrow money to buy a home they would not help me. Living in Washington I could see the difference between people that owned their home and those who were renters. I want my children to grow up in their own home and to do well like other children. But buying a house was scary, even for a tough guy like me. I didn’t know who I could trust. Inside, I knew that only renting for all of my life would leave me with nothing. I was very excited when I learned of your rent to own houses program. I felt that this was just what I needed. You were careful to explain everything and I understood. I felt that you were a man I could trust. We looked at many, many houses with your realtor until we found the right one. If I stay careful, Veronica can still remain at home with the children while I work. I don’t need a lot of cash to do this. My children will now learn what it is like to live in their own home and this will help them to be successful. Kamal, no one else was willing to help me like you did.
